Legacy’s Boss Bootcamp is a fun but challenging event for a boss to participate in. As this is the first time the event is being run we pre-empted a list of questions and/or information you may require, however if you can’t find the answer here, feel free to contact us.

WHO IS LEGACY AND WHAT DO THEY DO?
Legacy is devoted to enhancing the lives of the families of our veterans who have served in war, peacekeeping, and humanitarian missions who have died or become incapacitated either during service or subsequently. Visit legacy.com.au.
WHAT IS BOSS BOOTCAMP?

Boss Bootcamp is Legacy’s newest and biggest fundraising event for 2017.

Bosses and/or teams will be challenged by either completing a physical military style obstacle challenge and/or test their IQ with puzzles and other brain teasers.

Boss Bootcamp will build awareness and an affinity with our Australian Defence Force.

Whilst challenging, it is fun and gives an opportunity for networking and team building.

WHEN IS BOSS BOOTCAMP?

Date: Friday 4 August

Time: 10am to 2pm (your time will be allocated)

We encourage you to start raising funds as soon as you register and create your Fundraising Page.

AM I ELIGIBLE TO BE A BOSS?

Every business and industry has a range of bosses and all are eligible to take part in Boss Bootcamp. Even the boss of the house can be nominated.

IS THERE AN AGE LIMIT?

Yes, there is an age limit to participating you MUST be 18.

If you are under 18 why not consider nominating your teacher, parent, coach and help them raise money to get to Boss Bootcamp in support of Legacy families?

WHERE IS IT HELD?

Metropolitan Adelaide (within the 10km radius of the CBD) – the venue will be revealed upon reaching your minimum set fundraising goal

I WOULD LIKE TO USE THE APP. WHAT DO I NEED TO DO?

1. You need the following:

  1. Apple Store, your phone needs to be an iphone
  2. Itunes
  3. Click search ‘Legacy Boss Bootcamp’
  4. Install
  5. Once installed click ‘open’
And away you go.

2. Take a Bootcamp selfie in just a few easy steps

  1. Click on camera
  2. Focus your face in the camera
  3. Swipe your finger to the left on the screen to view the different overlays
  4. Take the photo, it automatically saves.
  5. Upload the photo to your profile page

Day of the bootcamp

WHAT HAPPENS ON THE DAY?
  • Arrive 30 minutes prior to your starting time
  • Sign in
  • Watch a 5 min video
  • Go through rules for the Brawn & Brain challenges
  • Complete your challenge (Brain/Brawn or Combination)
  • Networking opportunities
  • There will be food, drinks and merchandise available for purchase
SAFETY TIPS

It will be mandatory for all participants taking part in the obstacle challenge to watch a short 5 min video, along with instructions which will sit on our website closer to the event and will be reiterated on the morning of the event.

HOW MUCH DO I NEED TO RAISE?

There is no registration fee but we would appreciate our participant’s to either raise or donate the minimum $ amount to Legacy. The amounts will depend on the size of your business (see table below).

I HAVEN’T YET RAISED THE MINIMUM AMOUNT OF MONEY, CAN I STILL PARTICIPATE IN BOSS BOOTCAMP?

Yes, so you don’t miss out you can donate the remaining amount yourself to make up the minimum.

WHAT DO I NEED TO DO TO REGISTER?

If you are the Boss/teacher/supervisor registering yourself, click SIGN UP and complete the registration

You will be asked for a username upon registration which will create your log in for the site in the future. Keep your username in a safe place for future access to your online fundraising page.

A temporary password will be used to log you in, this will need to be changed upon first login.

I WANT TO REGISTER MY BOSS? WHAT WILL I NEED?

  1. Permission from your Boss/teacher/supervisor/coach
  2. User name
  3. What challenge will you give your Boss, Brains, Brawn or Combination
  4. Whether the Boss will bring a team or not
    1. his section can be added at a later date, if you don’t know whether the boss is bringing a team then choose ‘maybe’

Click the SIGN UP, choose I’m registering the Boss and follow the prompt.

I WANT TO REGISTER A BOSS AND A TEAM, WHAT WILL I NEED?

  1. Permission from your Boss/teacher/supervisor/coach and the team members
  2. User name
  3. What challenge will you give your Boss, Brains, Brawn or Combination
  4. Team members name

Click the SIGN UP, choose I’m registering the Boss and follow the prompt.

Add the Boss’s details, your details and then the names of each of the team members.

Communication will go to the Boss, who will receive an email to say they have successfully been registered for Boss Bootcamp.

Once registered, from the dashboard the Boss can change the name of the Page to the Business/Team Name, then circulate the link to the team members.

If you are going to be the “Driver” for the team then ask the Boss to also send you the log-in and link to the online fundraising page, then you will have full access to control the online fundraising page.

HOW MANY CAN WE HAVE IN A TEAM?

Each team can have a maximum of 4 members (the boss and 3 staff members).

CAN I REGISTER MYSELF?

Yes, you can go it alone or participate as a team. One of the benefits of this event is the team building, not only on the day but the challenge to reach your fundraising goal will be much more fun with others.

I WANT TO INVITE STAFF/CO-WORKERS TO JOIN MY TEAM BUT NOT SURE HOW?

You can invite staff/co-workers to join your team by picking up the phone, sending an email invitation, using social media, or the old face to face ask. If they accept then the Boss (or person with the log-in) can go in the back end to add team members.

PHYSICAL FITNESS

I’M NOT INTO PHYSICAL ACTIVITY, ARE THERE OTHER WAYS TO TAKE PART?

Of course!  We have a brains section also which may suit or you can sponsor one of our other participants or click on the DONATE button to make a donation directly to Legacy or call us to process your donation over the phone.

WHAT FITNESS LEVEL IS REQUIRED?

The course has been developed for various levels of fitness. You set yourself the challenge to your fitness level e.g. you can set yourself a time goal or set yourself a goal to attempt as many obstacles your body can handle, you can opt out at any time. People with disabilities, with staff assistance, have managed to safely complete the course.

MERCHANDISE

Merchandise is a great way to raise awareness and promote your participation in Boss Bootcamp

Along with printing out posters, sending out emails and posting on social media, merchandise is a tangible way to show your support for Legacy and your participation in Boss Bootcamp. Follow the steps below to view the various merchandise available for purchase.

  3. Insert quantity
  4. Add to your shopping cart
  5. Press continue to take you to check out page
  6. Check your order
  7. Enter donation should you wish to give one and click ‘Update Total’
  8. Then click ‘Continue’ which takes you to ‘Payment’ page

HOW LONG WILL MY ORDER TAKE?

Orders will be despatched from Legacy House 102 Franklin St, Adelaide. Please allow three (3) weeks from time of purchase.

CAN I GET A REFUND IF IT DOESN’T FIT?

Unfortunately there is no refund on merchandise for change of mind. You may get a refund if the garment is faulty.

IF I BUY A T-SHIRT CAN THE MONEY RAISED BE ADDED TO MY FUNDRAISING TOTAL?

Merchandise purchases will help to promote Boss Bootcamp. Unfortunately purchases cannot be added to your fundraising total, as money raised is purely a‘donation’ to which you receive a specific receipt to enable you to claim the donation on your tax.

MANAGE OFFLINE DONATIONS

WHEN DO WE NEED TO BANK THE FUNDS RAISED?

Please try to bank the funds raised as you receive them. The sooner the money is received, the sooner the donor will see it on your Fundraising page.

Your Fundraising page will be left open for an extra month after the event. Please ensure all funds raised are banked by Friday 1st September 2017.

WILL YOU SEND TAX RECEIPTS TO MY SPONSORS WHO DONATE OFFLINE?

Yes, we will send tax receipts for all donations over $2. However we will need to receive a confirmation of money banked and donor details.

OPTIONS TO BANK OFFLINE DONATIONS

1. Pay in cash online
Log on to your Fundraising page, click on Fundraising then click manage your donations and enter the details of your deposit.

2. Direct Deposit
Transfer your cash online or make a deposit at any BankSA branch
Account Name: Legacy
BSB: 105-900
Account No: 950185040
Reference: BBC + full name or business/team name 

Once the money has been banked please post or email the deposit receipt along with your donation form.

3. Visit Legacy/Mail us a cheque
Visit us at Legacy with cash donations/cheques/money orders or make a cheque for the entire amount payable to Legacy and post to Legacy GPO Box 1367, Adelaide SA 5001.

I’M ORGANISING A FUNDRAISING EVENT, WHAT DO I NEED TO DO?

WILL I NEED PUBLIC LIABILITY INSURANCE TO PARTICIPATE IN THE EVENT?

Legacy has standard public liability insurance of $20 million which covers standard fundraising including Boss Bootcamp – as long as you follow the event and venue terms & conditions.

WILL I NEED A BUDGET?

A budget is a good idea, working out the costs and setting a goal of how much you would like to raise is important. Should you wish to email us a copy of the budget for perusal, we would be happy to give you feedback.

Who is liable for the cost of running an event?

Please deduct any incurred costs from the money raised and bank the remainder.

ARE THERE ANY TIPS ON EVENTS TO RUN?

Sure, click 'Fundraising Tools' this will take you to our ‘How to raise funds page’ there are a few resources to view.

MY FUNDRAISING PAGE

WILL MY FUNDRAISING PAGE DISPLAY DONATIONS PLEDGED BEFORE THEY ARE BANKED?

The pledged donations will only show up once they are banked and the receipt sent to the team at Boss Bootcamp. As soon as you get offline donations please either bring them in to us or to the bank and pass on the donor's information so we can add them to your fundraising total.

CAN I UPLOAD MY COMPANY LOGO?

Yes. Accepted file types are jpg or gif. The more photos and videos you add the better as it will appeal to more people.

CAN MY DONATION BE ANONYMOUS?

Yes, you can request to be an anonymous donor.

SHOULD I DONATE TO MYSELF?

By all means you can make a donation to your own fundraising page.

Any donated amount is fine, but larger donations will encourage others to donate similar amounts.

ACCESS MY FUNDRAISING PAGE?

When you sign up, you will get access to a secure fundraising hub. This will take you to the back end of your Fundraising Page that only you can see.

HOW DO I POST PHOTOS OF MY FUNDRAISING EVENT ON MY PAGE

Log in to your fundraising page to update your profile and upload photos.

A WORK COLLEAGUE WANTS TO DONATE TO MY FUNDRAISING PAGE, WHAT DO I NEED TO DO?

The easiest way for them to donate is electronically. Email them the link for your fundraising page or they can give you cash or cheque if they prefer. If you receive cash or cheque click options to bank offline donations to process.
